Getting Started

Product Recipes

Practical Codapult starting points for AI products, B2B SaaS, marketplaces, internal tools, and content products.

These recipes are product starting points, not separate frameworks. Start with the closest Codapult profile, then keep only the modules and providers that support the first valuable workflow.

AI chatbot SaaS

Start with ai-chatbot for a focused chat product. Keep AI core, chat, guardrails, metering, usage quotas, conversations, and the provider adapter you will operate. Add RAG, agents, batch, or playground when the product workflow needs them. Use ai-saas when those broader AI surfaces are part of the initial product.

npx @codapult/cli setup --preset ai-chatbot
pnpm db:push
pnpm dev

First feature: a tenant-scoped conversation flow with a visible usage limit, streaming/non-streaming choice, and an evaluation case for the primary task.

B2B dashboard

Start with b2b-saas. Keep organizations, permissions, audit, branding, reports, SSO, and webhooks when they serve the account workflow. Add SCIM after the identity-provider provisioning contract is defined.

npx @codapult/cli setup --preset b2b-saas
pnpm db:push
pnpm dev

First feature: one organization-scoped dashboard flow with membership, forbidden-access, and cross-tenant tests.

Marketplace

Start with marketplace, which selects Stripe Connect, organizations, webhooks, audit, and branding on top of the standard foundation. Confirm seller onboarding, platform fees, refunds, and webhook reconciliation before launch.

npx @codapult/cli setup --preset marketplace

First feature: seller onboarding plus one buyer-to-seller payment path, tested with provider test events.

Internal tool

Start with internal-tool, which keeps authentication, organizations, workflows, analytics, audit, reports, and branding while removing unrelated public and growth surfaces. Use local storage and memory jobs while developing; choose production infrastructure when the tool has a real operating workload.

npx @codapult/cli setup --preset internal-tool

First feature: one authenticated workflow with an explicit role matrix and an audit entry for every sensitive mutation.

Content or productivity SaaS

Start with content-saas, which keeps content/blog, onboarding, notifications, workflows, analytics, and scheduled jobs that support the publishing or productivity loop. Add AI or RAG only where they improve the core workflow.

npx @codapult/cli setup --preset content-saas

First feature: create, edit, publish, and revisit one piece of user-owned content with a clear lifecycle and recovery path.

After choosing a recipe

npx @codapult/cli doctor
npx @codapult/cli env check
npx @codapult/cli mcp doctor

Review the generated source and .env.local, then run the relevant tests before adding the next module. For provider tradeoffs, see the provider matrix; for upgrades, see Upgrading Codapult.
